Artist Bio

Sara Claire Chambless is an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma recipient, AP Scholar, and the James G. Pepper Scholar in Studio Art at Davidson College (NC) for the class of 2012. She began her professional career at 17, when she sold the first of over a dozen paintings to private collectors who viewed her work at a debut solo exhibition at All Saints' Episcopal Church in Atlanta, GA.

In April 2008, Ms. Chambless made her professional debut with “Beginnings", a solo exhibition of twenty watercolors and works in mixed media, at Catherine Kelleghan Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia. The event boasted record attendance following several front-page feature newspaper articles on the then 18 year-old high school student.

Ms. Chambless has received accolades from collectors, artists, writers, and many others. The recurring theme in their comments is reflected in these words by award-winning filmmaker Anna Darrah: “How amazing that one so young could have honed her talents so well in form, texture, and color…”

In her first year of sales, the artist's work has quadrupled in value. She has received both public and private commissions and has attracted the interest of media, high profile galleries, and public and private collectors.
